British football legend Harry Kane's three children have been taken to hospital following a three-car crash in Germany.
Ms Kane's children – Ivy, 7, Vivian, 5, and Louis, 3 – were traveling in a Mercedes van in Bavaria just after 5pm on Monday when they collided with a Renault and a Land Rover.
Kane, captain of the England national team and all-time leading scorer, arrived in London at a trying time. His team, Bayern Munich, faced Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday. The game was tied 2-2.
Cain's children suffered minor injuries but are doing well, officials said.
“There was a collision, but the children were fine and no one was injured,” a representative for Kane told the Post. “They went to the hospital for a routine checkup.”
According to Bavarian State Police, the 20-year-old driver of the Renault swerved at an intersection and collided with the rear of a Mercedes that had begun swerving onto a side road.
Images from the scene showed the luxury car carrying Kane's children, with the bonnet collapsing from the impact.
A fire service source told the BBC that Kane's children were “very lucky not to have been seriously injured in the accident”.
Hohenschaftshraan Volunteer Fire Department Chief Daniel Bach said all the vehicles had “extreme damage” and “the first thing we saw was a lot of injuries from all the vehicles.” Stated.
Local police said in a statement this week: “At around 5.15pm on Monday, April 8, 2024, a 20-year-old resident of Munich was driving a Renault car on State Route 2071 towards the A95.”
“The 20-year-old was also accompanied by a 48-year-old, a 43-year-old and a 3-year-old from Munich,” the statement continued.
“At the same time, a 24-year-old man from the Munich area was also driving a Mercedes vehicle in the wrong direction on State Route 2071.”
“The 24-year-old man had three children between the ages of 5 and 7 in his car, all from the Munich area.”
All nine people involved in the accident suffered minor injuries.
They were taken to the hospital by helicopter and ambulance. The 62-year-old man went to the doctor himself,” the statement added.
Officials said the damage was in the tens of thousands of dollars.
According to the Guardian, Mr Kane's wife Kate and his youngest child, son Henry, who was born in August, were not in the car during the ordeal.
The newspaper has contacted Bavarian police for further comment.
Kane joined Bayern Munich in August 2023 after the club and Tottenham agreed a deal worth $106,750,500 (US$) for the star, making him the most expensive player in German Bundesliga history. .
