The U.S. Olympic Diving Trials will be held from Monday, June 17th through Sunday, June 23rd in Knoxville, Tennessee.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – With Florida swimmers currently competing in the Olympic Swimming Qualifiers, the UF Divers Conor Gething, Peyton Donald and Casey Greenberg He will represent the Gators at the U.S. Olympic Diving Trials in 2024. The week-long event will take place from Monday, June 17th through Sunday, June 23rd at the Alan Jones Aquatics Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.
The three divers will compete in the seventh session on Friday, June 21. Donald and Gething will dive first in the men's three-metre heats, while Greenberg will headline the morning session in the women's platform competition. The top 16 divers will advance to the semi-finals on Friday evening. The top eight from the semi-finals will advance to the final session on Saturday.
The top two divers from the individual springboard event and the winner of the platform event will make the team, while the winners of the three synchronized events will make the U.S. team.
Gators participating in the competition:
- In his rookie season, Gething made a historic SEC Championship debut where he was named the 2024 SEC Men's Freshman Diver of the Year and won two medals, earning him the SEC Championship Men's Diver of the Year honors. He won gold in the men's 1-meter, marking the first time Florida has topped the podium since 1985. Gething also became the first All-American in the event at an NCAA Championship.
- Payton was selected as an All-American after finishing 14th overall.Number He had success on the springboard at the 1-meter at the NCAA Championships, and at the conference championships he won the 3-meter consolation final with a personal best score of 399.80, placing ninth overall at his first SEC Championships.
- Casey Greenberg She qualified for the prelims with a score of 286.30 at the NCAA Diving Zone in March of this year. The junior placed in the top eight in the zone event but fell just short of the seven qualifying spots for the NCAA Championships.
