Johnny Fisher weighed in yesterday afternoon, approximately 25 pounds heavier than his opponent, Alen Babic. On paper, the two appear to be two equally matched punchers, but in reality, it seems that the action-packed Babic has found his breaking point in boxing, while the unbeaten Fisher is still working to find his own.
“I'm ready for the challenge, I'm excited to be out there,” Fischer said excitedly. “We've talked about the seriousness of the situation with my dad not being in the ring, the fans not being in the ring, and that's true. It's just you and me fighting. I'm big, I'm strong, I'm powerful, I'm fast. When my fists hit you, you'll know it's no good.”
Babić was used to throwing punches at opponents until he was hit with a heavy attack by Lukasz Rozanski last year, which took Babić out in one blow. Now he'll get a chance to redeem himself in the Copper Box.
“This is about the return of 'The Savage'. Eddie Hearn, it was a mistake when you hit my DMs asking about a fight with Johnny Fisher. I was shocked that you would put a boy through this but let's give it a go, let's get it done,” said 'The Savage'.
“I said yes because you underestimated The Savage. Everybody has underestimated The Savage my whole life. This is the first time I've seen this. When Johnny Fisher was 10 years old, I was fighting big guys. I was knocking them out.”
