Of all the interesting situations happening in the NBA right now, few are more intriguing than the Utah Jazz.
As they have for the past few seasons, the team is in the mid-major NBA ranks and has the talent to win right away in All-Stars Lauri Markkanen, Jordan Clarkson and John Collins, along with a host of recently drafted young players including Keyonte George, Taylor Hendricks, Isaiah Collier, Cody Williams, Walker Kessler and Kyle Filipowski.
Needless to say, the team has options to plan for the future, but none are more appealing than opting to use young players and completely rebuild.
The team's young core, currently led by George and Kessler, has shown enough talent to be intriguing developmental options, while recently drafted players Williams, Collier and Filipovski have all flashed immense potential at their positions.
As good as their current young roster is, the chances of actually contending for a championship usually come from top-tier talent acquired at the top of the NBA Draft, but to get there, the Jazz would need to move away from their core, win-oriented team.
Letting go of Markkanen or any other player would be a tough decision, but it would undoubtedly be made easier by the talent available in the 2025 NBA Draft. Many experts believe there are three to five franchise-altering talents in the mix, including Cooper Flagg, Ace Bailey, Dylan Harper and V.J. Edgecomb.
Adding a bona fide top 10-20 player in the future would go a long way in helping the rebuilding team, especially with some of the current young players potentially taking hits.
Either way, the Jazz will be one of the teams to watch over the next few months.
