For now, Alexa Grasso has bragging rights over Valentina Shevchenko.
After eight quarterfinal bouts (four at featherweight and four at middleweight), Grasso holds a 5-3 edge over Shevchenko in coaching bouts. Grasso’s team’s No. 2 middleweight pick, Paddy McCauley (4-1), clinched the bout against Shevchenko in the latest episode. Ultimate Fighter 32 He defeated Team Barrett’s No. 2, Mark Hulme (12-3), by submission in the first round.
In a match between the Irish striker and the South African wrestler, it was McCauley's grappling that surprisingly decided the outcome. Hulme started fast and caught a kick from McCauley and quickly took him down, but McCauley fought hard to keep Hulme off his back and bring the match back to the stands.
Hulme refused to let go of McCauley and was determined to score a decisive takedown. He finally managed to get away, but it was his defeat. McCauley immediately went for a guillotine choke, but Hulme was unable to choke on the head and neck. After a short struggle, Hulme was forced to tap.
McCauley is the third Grasso middleweight to reach the semifinals of the tournament, joining Finland’s Omran Shaaban and Switzerland’s Robert Valentin, while American Ryan Roeder is the only Team Bullet middleweight to win his first bout.
In the featherweight division of the tournament, Team Grasso’s Kaan Ofri (Australia) and Myron Santos (Brazil) and Team Brett’s Szygimantas Lamasca (Lithuania) and Roddy Roets (South Africa) each had two fighters advance.
After consultation with the coaches and UFC CEO Dana White, the semi-final pairings have been determined as follows:

Omran Chaaban vs. Ryan Roeder

Featherweight
