The theme for the 2024 Penn State football game has been announced

University Park, Pennsylvania – Penn State Athletics has announced the game day theme for the 2024 football season hosted by PSECU.


The nationally known Penn State White Out is scheduled for Nov. 9 against the University of Washington, the Penn State Stripe Out will be held on Oct. 5 against UCLA and the Helmet Stripes will be held on Nov. 2 against Ohio State.



2024 Penn State Football Game Theme:



Sept. 7 – Bowling Green (Noon – BTN): THON Games, Youth Sports & Spirit Day, 107K Family Reunion, Faculty Appreciation Day – Buy tickets

• The Penn State football department is partnering with THON, the world's largest student-run charitable organization.
• To date, THON has raised more than $236 million to support Penn State Health Children's Hospital Four Diamonds' efforts to end childhood cancer.
• Families and THON volunteers are invited to the game, and teams will wear THON helmet stickers.
• Spirit Day will also include a pre-game cheer and dance clinic, as well as an opportunity for cheer and dance participants to perform during halftime.
• Youth Sports Day invites youth sports teams to attend games.
• Faculty Appreciation Day will welcome Penn State faculty and staff to the game.
• Penn State's 2023-24 Big Ten/EIVA/CHA Conference Championship team will be recognized.

September 21 – Kent State University (time and network TBA): Military Appreciation Day – Buy tickets

Military Appreciation Day Activities Sponsored by SRS Distribution

• Penn State will pay tribute to the men and women who have bravely served their country by dedicating the game to them when the Nittany Lions take on Kent State.
• This year's Military Appreciation theme is POW/MIA, honoring those who were prisoners of war and those who are still missing in action.
• Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets that will donate to military members and their families through our “Seats for Military” program. To support the “Seats for Military” program, visit here or call 1-800-NITTANY.
• ROTC elites, active duty military, veterans and military families will be honored during the game.
• At halftime, academic achievement will be recognized for student-athletes who have earned a 3.0 or higher grade point average in the spring 2024 semester.

September 28 – Illinois (3:30, 4, or 7:30 p.m., network TBA): Homecoming – Buy tickets
Games hosted by PA Pork

• Penn State Homecoming will recognize the 2024-25 Guide State Forward Award recipients during the game.
• The annual Homecoming Parade returns to State College's campus and downtown on Friday evening, September 27th.
• The football team will once again turn back the clock in a special “Generations of Greatness” game, wearing uniforms incorporating design elements from past uniforms.
• The 1994 Rose Bowl team will be honored on its 30th anniversary.^Number The anniversary of the win over Oregon in the Rose Bowl.
• The Pennsylvania Pork Producers Association will host the PA Pork Rib Cook-Off at the Block Party.

October 5 – UCLA (time and network TBA): Penn State Stripe Out, All-U Day – Buy tickets

• UCLA marks the return of the Penn State Stripe Out.
• Each section will be coordinated with all blue or white clothing to create a striped effect at Beaver Stadium.
• Fans can find out what colors the Stripe Out will be at PennStateStripeOut.com.
• The annual All-University Day features student representatives from all Penn State campuses at halftime.
• The All-U Day celebration will include the recognition of all students and national champions from Commonwealth Campus.

November 2 – Ohio State (time and network TBA): Helmet Stripes – Buy tickets

• Beaver Stadium will feature a “helmet stripe” stadium layout for the third time in history.
• To complete the look, most people in Beaver Stadium wore white, One Players in select sections on the east and west sides of the stadium will wear blue to resemble Penn State's traditional helmets.

November 9th – Washington (time and network TBA): Penn State Whiteout – Buy tickets

• When Penn State plays the Huskies, fans are encouraged to wear all white for an all-white game.
• The official 2024 Penn State Whiteout T-shirt was once again a collaborative project between Penn State and Nike, and fans can purchase the 2024 Penn State Whiteout shirt here.

November 30 – Maryland (time and network TBA): Senior Day, Scout Day, Educator Appreciation Day, Healthcare Service Appreciation Day, Parent Weekend – Buy tickets

• The home schedule will conclude with Senior Day, when the Nittany Lions' seniors will be introduced in front of the fans at Beaver Stadium for the final time.
• The Senior Day celebration will be hosted by the Penn State Alumni Association.

Penn State's season opener is Aug. 31 against West Virginia University, broadcast at noon on FOX. The Nittany Lions return 42 lettermen from last year's team — 17 on offense, 22 on defense and three on special teams — and also return 16 starters — seven on offense, seven on defense and two on special teams.
