The Eiffel Tower has been chosen as the location to display the Olympic rings for the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games.
On the morning of June 7, 2024, 49 days before the opening of the Olympic Games, the city of Paris woke up to a big surprise: the Olympic rings had been installed between the first and second floors of the Eiffel Tower.

True technical ability
The Olympic rings are 95 feet wide and 43 feet tall. Manufactured by ArcelorMittalInstalling the ring, more than 200 feet above the ground, was a true engineering feat and required months of meticulous preparation. The entire work was supervised and verified by the competent inspection authorities (technical experts and inspection agencies). The final work required great precision, with the use of magnificent cranes – two 500-ton and two 100-ton cranes – to lift and install the ring between the first and second floors. The work was carried out during the night of 6-7 June 2024.
At the heart of the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games
With the installation of the Olympic rings, the Eiffel Tower has become an even more integral part of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It will be featured in the design of the Olympic and Paralympic medals, podiums and the Opening Ceremony, as well as at the intersections of several stadiums and key Olympic venues (Parc des Champions, Champ de Mars Arena and Pont d'Iena). It will also feature on banknotes: from June 2024, the Eiffel Tower will appear on 24 million commemorative 2 euro coins that will be put into circulation by the Paris Mint.
