This 25th anniversary “Configuration” show spotlights student companies at Center Stage Theater

Santa Barbara Dance Arts' latest production celebrates 25 years composition The show, which each student dance company performs for two consecutive weeks at Center Stage Theater, premiered last weekend. The show will highlight corporate dance, competition team work, and student choreography.
The combination of intimate theater, youthful energy, and colorful costumes and lighting creates a truly unique dance experience. This show sells out, so plan ahead.
In addition to a fast-paced mix of jazz, contemporary, hip-hop and tap, this year's show included a special alumni showcase piece choreographed by alumnus Emily Stokes. A standout moment from the show was an amazing piece featuring the senior competitive team called “End of Love.”
Also shown during the show was a student-created video advocacy project (a project of the Youth-led Inclusion Coalition in partnership with the Arts Mentorship Program) that focused on women's empowerment through elements of dance and powerful quotes . The performance ended with a playful production number that honored the toe-tapping music in the film. Singin' in the Rain, La La Land, Barbiemore.
