Hebron Christian Academy (Ga.) pass rusher Carrington Coombs committed to Georgia Tech just days after his official visit to The Flats. After the visit, Coombs returned to campus with the team for the Corky Kell 7v7 and re-engaged with the program, which helped solidify his commitment.
“The coaching staff has been a big influence on not only me but my whole family,” Coombs said. “Once you step on campus, you just love it. The players and people involved with the program are great.”
Defensive ends coach Kyle Pope led Tech's recruitment, and Coombs said both head coach Brent Key and Coach Pope were ecstatic about his decision.
“Coach Pope and Coach Key were just smiling and overjoyed when I broke the news,” he said.
Coombs is the Jackets' 13th committed player in the 2025 class, and his addition propels Tech to 24th in Rivals.com's team rankings.
Coombs told JOL how excited he was about his visit to Tech.
