Yu Saito vs. Yuta Kubo
Round 1: Kubo in gold, Saito in blue. Slow start, first significant blow is a head kick from Kubo that's half blocked. Saito goes for a hard double attempt but is thwarted. Backs Kubo into the corner and into a phone booth. They exchange clinch knees. The ref separates them. Kubo lands a low kick and gets hooked as a counter. Saito charges in, Kubo lands a big shot. As Saito tries to charge in, Kubo throws him down.
Round 2: Saito sprints for a single but can't get it. Kubo kicks him in the ribs and hits him in the forearm instead. Saito ducks and Kubo kicks, nearly sending Saito crashing down. Saito manages to dodge some of them but it's still no fun. Kubo now puts his hands down and taunts Saito. Kubo again lands a punch to the body and dodges a reflex shot. Saito tries to move forward but is taken down by a jab. Saito goes for a single but can't get it. Now he goes for a double but can't get it either.

I like to call this Shenron's first frame, but this one isn't scored per round, it's scored for the entire fight.
Round 2: Ogikubo charges in for a headbutt takedown, but Shenron quickly gets up. The headbutt leaves Shenron with a large cut above his left eye. The match is stopped to check on Shenron. He eventually recovers enough to continue.
The pace is much slower than before. Ogikubo charges in and meets Shenron's level change, but Ogikubo blocks a takedown attempt. Left from Ogikubo. Low kick from Shenron, answered with a straight left. Right punch from Shenron just before the bell rings.
Round 3: A slow start to the final stanza. Ogikubo checks Shinryu with his chin and Makoto doesn't like it. The younger man quickly gets a takedown and goes for a guillotine. Ogikubo in full guard. Ogikubo finally puts his feet on his hips and pushes to his feet. 90 seconds left. Ogikubo resorts to leg kick attacks. Ogikubo pushes Shinryu into the ropes and into the corner. Ogikubo clinches but does nothing. Finally lets go and swings.
