DALLAS (AP) — After Tyler Seguin took a shot to the face, Jason Robertson scored a power-play goal late in the second period to put Dallas ahead and the Stars defeated Vegas in Game 5 on Wednesday night. The first home team to win this opening game series, defeating the Golden Knights 3-2 and currently leading.
Evgeni Dadonov and Matt Duchene also scored for the Stars, who have won their third straight game as the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference after dropping their first two games at home last week.
After Alex Pietrangelo took a wide backhand swing that connected with the faces of Stars forwards gathered against the boards, Seguin fell to the ice, a bit dazed. The play was originally called a five-minute major, but after a replay review, it was changed to a minor penalty.
Still, it was a big blow for the Knights as Robertson took the first shot on the advantage. His third goal of the series came after he took a ricochet of his own and sent the puck through traffic in front of the net, past goaltender Adin Hill, who was starting the first game of the series for the Knights.
