2024 Korea Olympic Trials
History was made on the men's side on the penultimate night of the South Korean 2024 Olympic Trials.
For the first time in history, two Korean men have qualified for the Olympics in the 200m freestyle.
world champion Hwang Sun Woo He took the lead with a 1:44.90 victory. This is the eighth-fastest time of the 20-year-old's career, which beats the national record of 1:44.40 set at last year's Asian Games.
Kim Woo Min, The reigning 400m freestyle world champion hit the wall with a time of 1:45.68, clinching a ticket to Paris.
His performance means that he has broken the 1 minute 46 second barrier for the first time, breaking his personal best of 1 minute 46.06 seconds set in November last year.
Lee Ho Jun He finished on the podium with a time of 1:46.42. Kim Young Hyun He took 4th place with a time of 1 minute 47.37 seconds.

Hwang is already ranked No. 1 in the world thanks to his personal records, and Kim is currently ranked 9th on the season.
Historically, Kim Woo-min holds the fourth-fastest time in Korean history, while Lee currently holds the fifth-fastest time.

The Korean Swimming Federation (KSF) High Performance Committee will make the final decision on who and how many athletes will be recommended for the men's 4x200m free relay.
At this year's Doha, South Korea won the silver medal in the 4x200m free relay after a fierce battle with China until the very end, earning them their first medal at the world championships. China won the gold medal with a time of 7:01.84, and South Korea came in second with a time of 7:01.94, just 0.10 seconds behind.
The members of the Korean national team for this race are as follows: Yang Jae Hoon (1:47.78), Kim Woo Min (1:44.93), Heo Jun (1:45.47), Hwang (1:43.76).
Cho Sung Jae This evening's men's 200m breaststroke drew attention.
The 23-year-old clocked a time of 2:09.53, lowering his World Aquatics Olympic qualifying time of 2:09.68 and finishing on top of the podium. He will be representing South Korea at his second Olympics after Tokyo.
Finally, a 14-year-old athlete competed in the women's 50m back, a non-Olympic event. Kim Seung Won He set a personal best and set a new national record.
