JACKSONVILLE — Senior Erin Turley scored all three of Donohoe's goals and the 1A-3A Falcons defeated 6A Fort Payne 3-1 on Jacksonville State University's field Monday.
The game will be the final regular season game for Donohoe, which opens the state playoffs Tuesday against Altamont at 6:30 p.m.
Donohoe's team opens the playoffs Monday at Westminster-Oak Mountain at 5 p.m.
Jacksonville 8, Glencoe 2: Lexi Page and Emerson Weaver each scored three goals for Jacksonville, which finished the regular season with a 17-3-2 record and the Class 4A, Area 5 championship.
Willa Kate Walker and Kylie Terrell each added a goal. Sarah Slaffy had five assists, and Page, Weaver and Gray Hill each had one assist.
Behind the defense of Emma Easterling, goaltender Kelsey Sigler made five saves in the win.
The Jacksonville girls open the playoffs against Cherokee County on Tuesday, while the Jacksonville boys face Westbrook Christian on Monday. The time is undecided.
Weaver 6, Talladega 2: Lena Johansson had two goals and one save, and Weaver celebrated her senior night with a win.
Senior Elionna Richmond and senior DJ Gibbs each scored two goals, and Maggie Santiago had two assists. Gianna Luna added one assist and Brooke Jones made seven saves.
