The SEC will stick to an eight-game format for the 2025 college football season. Georgia Football Conference opponents announced.
The college football landscape is constantly changing, and football fans are on the edge of their seats in anticipation of what the next announcement will be. Now, for SEC fans, it looks like the schedule format for the 2025 season will remain unchanged.
Georgia's 2025 conference opponents were officially announced as of Wednesday, and the conference will maintain an eight-game conference opponent schedule through next calendar year. The only change made to the schedule is that the venue will be swapped. For example, Georgia will play Texas on the road this season, but will host the Longhorns at home next year in 2025. This applies to all conference games on the schedule.
Georgia has a bit of a tough task ahead of its eight-game conference schedule in 2024. During the upcoming season, they will play Texas, Alabama, and Ole Miss on the road this season. The Bulldogs will also host Tennessee and Auburn, and have neutral games scheduled against Florida and Clemson.
There was some hope that commissioner Greg Sankey and the SEC would eventually move to a nine-game conference schedule, but listening to the situation, it appears that won't be the case for at least the next two seasons.
