Kickoff times and television schedules for the 2024 American football season have been announced, with 38 games scheduled over the first three weeks.
The Army Black Knights will join the American Athletic Conference this season, while the SMU Mustangs will leave the conference and join the ACC.
The schedule begins on Thursday, August 29, with three American teams playing FCS opponents: the UAB Blazers host the Alcorn State Braves, the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes host the Northwestern State Demons and the Tulane Green Wave host the Southeastern Louisiana Lions. All three games will stream at 8pm ET on ESPN+.
Three American teams will take to the gridiron on Friday, August 30. Matches will begin at 6pm ET on CBS Sports Network as Army hosts the Lehigh Mountain Hawks. Then the Temple Owls visit the Oklahoma Sooners, kicking off at 7pm ET on ESPN. The Florida Atlantic Owls visit the Michigan State Spartans at 7pm ET on Big Ten Network.
The remaining eight American teams are scheduled to begin their 2024 season on Saturday, August 31. Highlighting the lineup will be the Florida Atlantic Owls visiting the Charlotte 49ers and hosting the James Madison Dukes in a match that will air at 8pm ET on ESPNU.
He also announced game times and television rights for 26 games between Sept. 21 and Dec. 14.
The 2024 American Football Championship will take place on Friday, December 6th and will be broadcast on ABC at 8pm ET.
