In his role with the Bears, McGee worked with the head coach, general manager and football operations department to execute the franchise's strategic and operational priorities. He coordinated and oversaw the planning and execution of all in-season games, practices, offseason programs, and postseason player and staff evaluations. Maggie was a key advisor on all off-field matters and was responsible for the allocation and management of multiple budget areas. Additionally, he was a member of the club's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council and administrator of the NFL Bill Walsh Minority Fellowship Program.
McGee spent five seasons with the football program in his first stint at the University of Michigan (2017-22). He served as director of player personnel during his first year with the program before being promoted to associate athletic director of football for his final four seasons. In his role with the Wolverines, McGee oversees the football program in off-field areas including managing the player personnel department, managing football operations and budgets while liaising with the athletic director and senior leadership team. and provided instructions. Prior to arriving in Ann Arbor, McGee served as Director of Player Personnel at the U.S. Naval Academy for five seasons (2012-2016). During his time at Navy, McGee helped shape and manage the team's roster during his five years, the winningest in program history.
Maggie graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in economics. As a Navy player from 2000 until 2003, McGee was part of the offensive line that led the All-American Rush in the 2003 season. Additionally, McGee led the Midshipmen to recapture the Commander in Chief Trophy for the first time since 1981 and became a member of the program's first bowl game team since the 1996 season.
After graduating from the academy, McGee served as an active duty naval officer from 2004 to 2012, receiving numerous awards and medals. As a division officer on the battleship Juneau in Sasebo, Japan, he deployed to the Arabian Gulf in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, and also led a small boat force in interdiction operations at sea off the coast of Africa. . McGee also served as a personnel analyst for the Naval Surface Forces Command in Coronado, California, and as the operations director for the Naval Recruiting District of Ohio. He then earned a master's degree in business administration from the College of William & Mary's Mason School of Business in 2012.
