Golf returned to the Olympics in 2016 and is poised to see the world's best players play again at the 2024 Paris Games.
Xander Schauffele won the men's gold medal at the 2021 Olympics in Japan, and Nelly Korda won the women's gold medal. Both skaters have a chance to defend their gold medals, with Korda the favorite to win the women's competition and Schauffele in second place in the men's competition.
The golf competition will take place at Le Golf National in Guyancourt, France, a course you may recognize from the 2018 Ryder Cup, where Europe defeated Team USA, 17½ to 10½.
The men's tournament will begin on August 1-4. The women's tournament will follow the following week, August 7-10. As with regular PGA and LPGA Tour events, play will consist of four rounds of 18-hole stroke play. There will be 60 golfers in each field, and there will be no cut.
Let's take a look at the opening odds for winning gold medals in both the men's and women's events.
