HAYWORTH — Bloomington High School football coach Scott Godfrey has left his position with the Purple Raiders to take the head football coaching position at Haworth.
Godfrey said he had never quit or been fired from his job at BHS before accepting the position at Haworth.
“It's been an unbelievable situation for my family. It's a great decision for me and my family,” Godfrey said. “This is the right opportunity at the right time.”
At Haworth, Godfrey filled the position that had been vacant since former coach Nate Albaugh resigned to pursue other opportunities.
“We are very excited to continue to grow our football program with Coach Godfrey's experience and leadership,” said Hayworth Athletic Director Mitch Neely.
“He has a passion for the game and a desire to improve student-athletes on and off the field. I know.”

Mr. Godfrey is a physical education teacher at BHS and will serve as a teacher at Haworth as well.
