SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The suspect arrested after a shooting inside Springfield Science and Technology High School (Sci-Tech) will face additional charges following further investigation.
Springfield police reviewed additional video of the March 11 incident, leading to the decision to also charge the 22-year-old. Josiah Livingston He committed a serious crime of trespassing in daylight hours armed with fear.
Livingston was arrested at the school after the incident, but was only charged with assault and battery at the time. He is being held at the Hampden County Correctional Center in Ludlow on $25,000 bail. He is scheduled to return to court on April 12.
An investigation revealed that Livingston, along with Dana Dudley, Chants Dudley, and a girl, attempted to enter the school after being asked to leave by a teacher. When the door opened, the two men entered and began arguing in the hallway, with one of the suspects brandishing a gun. During the incident, a gun was fired, hitting a nearby window.
Livingston was arrested on campus, but Dana, Chants, and the boy got into a car and left. Last week, Dana was arrested and charged with possession of a deadly weapon on school property and breaking and entering while armed in daylight hours, a felony causing fear of a person.
Dana's son, Chants Dudley, 20, of Chicopee, remains at large and wanted in connection with the same case. Chantz-Dudley allegedly used the gun to hit the victim in the head and fired one shot through the window, Springfield police said.
If Chants Dudley is discovered, he will be charged with the following crimes:
- Discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building.
- Assault and shelling with dangerous weapons
- Malicious destruction of property over $1,200
- Bringing firearms into school
- Possession of a firearm without a permit
- Carrying a loaded firearm without a permit
- Armed intrusions and daytime intrusions against felons leave people in fear.
