Why is the Week 14 bye week bad for fantasy football?
Week 14 is the first round of fantasy playoffs in some formats and the final week in many others. Players who receive a bye will miss out on the most important week of the fantasy football schedule.
2024 fantasy football top quarterback bye week brackets:
Week 5 Bye Week Fantasy Quarterback: Jalen Hurts
The first bye week of the season won't be too painful from a quarterback standpoint. Jalen it hurts.
jared Goff He is the next highest draft quarterback scheduled to miss Week 5 and is currently QB16 in ADP.
Matthew Stafford Given Hurts' low draft cost (QB19) and the expected matchup environment against the Packers in Week 5, this could be an intriguing matchup for Hurts.
The game's point total is currently at 48.5, the highest of any game in Week 5.
The Packers made some improvements to their secondary this offseason. Most notably, Xavier McKinney He got a big trade and performed pretty well against fantasy quarterbacks last season.
Still, the match between that game environment and the Rams' weapons in the passing game makes things as interesting as they can be when looking outside of the top 15 quarterbacks by ADP.
Fantasy quarterback for Week 6 bye: Patrick Mahomes
patrick mahomes He's not coming off his best fantasy season, but that might not be the case. Lashi rice For a while, he's still an early ADP QB4.
Caleb williams He's not as cheap an option as the current QB11, but he has an intriguing matchup against the Jaguars in London.
Jacksonville struggled against quarterbacks last season, and even with a new coordinator and some new faces on defense, it's not hard to imagine them struggling against the pass this season.
Fantasy quarterbacks with Week 12 bye: Josh Allen, Joe Burrow
This week isn't as bad as the QB apocalypse below, but it's still tough to have the current QB1 (Josh Allen) and current QB7 (Joe Burrow) will be released on ADP in the same week later in the season.
There also aren't too many late-round quarterbacks who stand out in the Week 12 matchup.
Geno Smith A home game against the Cardinals will be somewhat interesting as the defense should be better, but overall there are still questions.
Matthew Stafford They'll face the Eagles at home on Sunday Night Football in Week 12, and we should expect Philadelphia's secondary to be even better this season.
There must be at least some interest justin Herbertis currently ADP's QB17.
Given what we've seen so far, that draft position is justified Gym Harbaugh and Greg Roman The Ravens offense has been great in the past, and the Ravens defense that Herbert played on Monday night in Week 12 was very good last year.
That being said, Baltimore has had a lot of turnover in personnel, including the coaching staff, and has an offense that could give the Chargers a tough fight.
It's hard to predict that far ahead, but taking a gamble on Herbert's talent and pairing him with a player like Allen at a very low draft cost makes sense even before factoring in the bye week.
Fantasy quarterbacks with the Week 14 bye week: Lamar Jackson, CJ Stroud, Anthony Richardson, Jayden Daniels
have Lamar jackson (QB3 in current ADP), CJ Stroud (QB5), anthony richardson (QB6), and Jayden Daniels It's terrible to have (QB13) out on a pivotal week in a lot of fantasy leagues.
Jordan Love That's a bit too expensive for this QB10 exercise, and a Week 14 matchup against the Lions may not be as appealing as it looks using the 2023 numbers given the defensive improvements Detroit has made this offseason.
Still, the total points for this match was a solid 48 points.
Geno Smith There is a matchup against the Cardinals this week that is worth mentioning.
kirk cousin, currently ADP's QB18, will reunite with the Vikings in Minnesota. A must see for anyone who wants to take a stroll down Narrative Street.
aaron rodgers This may be the most interesting name here.
The Jets vs. Dolphins score is currently 47.5 points. Miami's defense is arguably worse than last year, but their two injured pass rushers should be 100% back at this point in the season.
Rodgers, the current QB20, might not be a bad pairing with a player like Jackson in best-ball formats.
