I'll warn you in advance: the following report about Ryan Garcia is disturbing.
Boxer Ryan Garcia, a known staunch supporter of Donald Trump, has been banned by the World Boxing Council (WBC) for making racist comments on social media platform “X.”
Let's be clear: He appears to have made that comment from his Spaces Sessions account, but barely apologized afterwards. That's awful.
In case you didn't know, Garcia has already been suspended for steroid use and has allegedly made derogatory comments about Muslims, the Ku Klux Klan and George Floyd — yes, we're including George Floyd in our accusations against him.
In X's recording, Garcia reportedly said, “I hate n—–s” and “I hate black people.”
Apparently he said he hates black people. What a pathetic loser.
Garcia even claimed ties to the KKK, or the Klan. This is not a myth.
When the voice on the phone suggested killing “the next George Floyd” with an AK-47, Garcia allegedly responded, “Let George Floyd live and kill that black man again.”
His comments also targeted Muslims, reportedly saying, “Fuck all Muslims who rape little children.”
The remarks quickly spread online, leading WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman to expel Garcia from the organization.
Good. Bye. Bye.
Garcia responded by posting a now-deleted message to X, seemingly retracting his statements: “I was trolling. I hope all the killing stops. I love you all. I'm sorry if I caused any offense,” he wrote, according to the Associated Press.
Garcia has transformed himself over the past year into a right-wing social media influencer while his boxing career is in decline. Someone told him this was a winning brand. They were wrong.
Earlier this year, the Trump campaign touted Garcia's endorsement, reflecting its reliance on social media influence rather than a reputable figure with institutional knowledge.
The endorsement was part of a broader strategy to use martial arts athletes to bolster Trump's campaign.
Garcia's ties to the Trump movement are clear, and his racist rhetoric and ties to QAnon-related conspiracies link him closely to many other MAGA influencers who support Trump.
Either way, the Trump support is real, but the blatant KKK racism will likely be the end of Garcia's already fading career. Farewell!
