Boxing Superstar Ryan Garcia At 25 years old, he announces his retirement from boxing… this is the most questionable announcement ever.
King Ryan shared the news at length on social media on Wednesday, in which he addressed his ongoing performance-enhancing drug scandal, his mother's health, Logan PaulPrime Drinks Company and his divorce Drea Serena.
Garcia's claim was previously undefeated. Devin Haney In April… his sample was found to contain the banned substance ostarine and is currently under investigation.
Garcia's team claims he was drugged without his knowledge, but he could face fines, suspensions and even the possibility of having his record of victory over Haney stripped.
“Boxing's fine without me,” Garcia, 24-1, said minutes earlier on X. “But it's a shame because I enjoyed the fight. I enjoyed hitting people.”
But Garcia said this won't be the end of him, explaining that he will continue to train and may even dabble in music or acting, but that the sport of boxing has become too “corrupt” for his tastes.
“The sad thing is, I'm a great boxer,” he added, “and I entertain people and I knock people out. I love boxing so it's sad. I'm praying for everybody and I hope everybody has a great life.”
He ended his rant by declaring, “I'm officially retired” … and hasn't posted since.
The announcement has been met with much skepticism, with Garcia openly admitting to irritating his social media followers with a flurry of bizarre tweets in the lead up to the Haney fight.
So…don’t call just yet.
