CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – On Monday, May 13, Rossview High School traveled to West Creek High School to take on the Coyotes in the regional semifinals. West Creek's defense was strong early on, but the Hawks' offense eventually broke through, including a hat trick from Graham Duncan. Rossview won the game 8-0, ending West Creek's season.
For the first few minutes of the game, each team struggled to find the back of the net. But after Joshua Villa broke through nine minutes into the game, the Hawks remained silent for the next 20 minutes. A big reason for that was the efforts of goalkeeper Alex Cruz Lopez. West Creek head coach Craig Nactis was proud of the fight his team showed defensively.

“Rossview is a talented team and they got off early the first time we played them,” Nactis told Clarksville Now. “We wanted to stay from early on and we did that. Once you're in a hole, it's hard to get out.”
The game remained 1-0 through most of the first half, but Rossview scored two goals by the end of the first half, pushing the score to 3-0. In the second half, the Hawks scored five more points, including three points by Duncan, and won 8-0.
“Graham is a great player,” Rossview High School head coach Seth Ramsey said. “He does everything we ask him to do and is a smart player. That's why he scores so many goals.”
West Creek won its first district championship in program history last weekend, and this loss ends a historic season. The Hawks are looking for revenge and are scheduled to play Clarksville High School for the regional championship on Wednesday, May 15th.
“Today is a new game and a different day,” Ramsey told Clarksville Now. “I want to keep that feeling in mind and do my best.”
