Los Angeles will host its third Summer Olympics during the 2028 Olympics.
The city previously hosted the Summer Olympics in 1932 and 1984.
The city will be the third city to host the Olympic Games, following London and Paris.
“We're the second building to host the Olympics three times, after us and the Coliseum,” Weyden said.
Wyden said the Olympics are a great partner.
The iconic Rose Bowl has been a huge success for football games.
The July 4 game between the LA Galaxy and LAFC drew 82,110 fans, setting a new MLS single-game attendance record.
Last year, the Rose Bowl was not selected as a venue for the North American World Cup.
He was a finalist for the Rose Bowl, but was eliminated in the final selection.
As part of its bid to host the games, the Los Angeles World Cup Organizing Committee led FIFA officials on a tour of Rose Bowl Stadium, SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park in November.
In the 2026 FIFA World Cup, matches are scheduled to be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Los Angeles hosted the match during the 1994 World Cup and his 1999 Women's World Cup run.
“The World Cup didn't go well for us,” Widen said. “The World Cup wanted to put tens of millions of dollars into your building for very specific capital projects that wouldn’t necessarily help our tenants, but our tenants would get all the proceeds. I maintained it.”
According to media reports, SoFi Stadium officials and the World Cup were at loggerheads after stadium owner Stan Kroenke initially refused to adjust the playing area to fit a soccer field, which uses a larger area.
Kroenke reportedly refused to pay for some changes, including the removal of stands and luxury boxes.
However, it was reported earlier this year that Los Angeles would remain the host city, with stadium renovations underway.
