For a while now, the consensus has been to hate that Alabama football games kick off at 11 a.m. Central Time. However, it has been reported that the SEC Network could push back the start time to as early as the 2024 season.
“For an all-day SEC football atmosphere, we are moving the SEC Network's game start time back 45 minutes, leading to a more staggered finish. That means kickoff times from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Central Time. ,” said John Talty of 247 Sports. writes Alex Scarborough. “A typical SEC Network schedule would be 11:45 a.m. CT, 3:15 p.m. CT, 6:45 p.m. CT, but ABC and ESPN's Games will maintain their regular start times, the SEC and ESPN can change ABC, and ESPN afternoon and evening games will be limited in number per school.”
Additionally, the SEC will continue its eight-game conference schedule through at least the 2025 season.
The news comes about a week after the Alabama football team announced that its April 13 A-Day spring scrimmage will be broadcast on ESPN at 3 p.m. PT.
Also in February, UA announced which date on its 2024 football schedule will be its annual homecoming game, which will be Oct. 26 against Missouri State. The University of Alabama has an overall record of 88 wins, 13 losses, and 1 draw in homecoming games, and is currently on a 21-game winning streak.
The Crimson Tide defeated Arkansas State in the 2023 Homecoming Game by a final score of 24-21.
Game time for the Crimson Tide's homecoming tilt against Missouri State will be announced at a later date. More information about A-Day, including additional activities, traffic and parking, will be posted on rolltide.com as it becomes available.
