CONCORD — The South Rowan girls soccer team won 1-0 in Concord on Tuesday.
Chloe Tracy scored for the Raiders.
Margo Maples made two saves for South in the South Piedmont Conference game.
South (6-4, 5-3) dominated shots on goal, but Gabby Claros held Concord (2-11, 0-8) in check with 13 saves.

GRANITE QUARRY — Northwest Cabarrus dominated with a 10-1 victory over East Rowan in Tuesday's SPC game.
Hayden Koontz scored four points for the Trojans (7-1, 5-1) and Megan Storey had three points.
Lillian Jeffers scored the East goal and Emily Garcia-Lopez had an assist.
Daisy Berry made 18 saves for the Mustangs (5-9, 2-5).
college baseball
SALISBURY — Catawba defeated Belmont Abbey 17-6 on Tuesday in a nonconference game at Newman Park.
Sam Hunter, Beau Rusher (Salisbury), Logan Rogers (Carson) and Drew Robertson each had three RBIs for the 21st-ranked Indians (30-9).
Cooper Bryson and Dylan Driver (Carson) hit triples.
Mason Gwynn (5-1) was the winning pitcher. The Indians made it easy for him by scoring eight points in the first inning.
Belmont Abbey is 20-16.
Catawba's weekend series with Anderson is currently scheduled for a doubleheader Saturday at 2 p.m. and a single game Sunday at 1 p.m.

Former local stars CP Pyle (Carson) and Jackson Diehl (South Rowan) had great games in Brevard's 12-10 win over Methodist.
Both hit home runs.
Methodist Deal was 3-for-5 with four hits and two runs batted in.
Brevard's Pyle was 2-for-3 with three hits and four RBIs.
college softball
Wingate dominated Catawba 5-1, 6-0 in a South Atlantic Conference doubleheader Wednesday at Whitley Field.
Grace Flynn had three hits for the Indians (19-23, 7-11) and Riley Tucker had two hits in Game 1.
Catawba was held to three hits by the 10th-ranked Bulldogs (39-6, 17-1) in the second game.

Stoner hit a home run against Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday.
HS Golf
Salisbury defeated Kings Mountain on Wednesday by a score of 148.
John McCoy, Jackson Spurger and Sam Goodman hit in the 36s. Warren Fesperman hit 40.

The player in the low “A” flight was Larry Petrea with a net of 68.06.
The athlete in the low “B” flight was Dickie Peeler with a net of 58.88.
The player in the low “C” flight was David Schenck with a net of 63.12.
The player in the low “D” flight was Tim White with a net of 61.36.
Peeler shot a 74 for the low-gross victory, and White won with a low net.
Larry Luther was a super senior with a net of 63.85.
