The Greene County High School boys soccer program is just entering its sixth season of competition (no spring sports were held in 2020 due to the pandemic), but it has an established pattern of success on the field. Head coach Karl Bene and assistant coach Chad Black are the only coaches to have been with the program, making him three appearances in the state tournament and posting an overall record of 61-31. Greene County went 13-5 and made it to the Class 2A state tournament in 2023, but lost to eventual state champion Gilbert in the quarterfinals. Greene County has had a winning record of 10 or more wins in each of the past five campaigns. Expectations are high as several key members will return in 2024.
The Rams will begin practice on Monday, March 18th. He will play a scrimmage at Denison on March 23, before officially opening the regular season at Boone on March 26 at 5:30 p.m.
