hamilton college defender Sami Quackenbush '24 (Marshfield, Massachusetts/Taver Academy) has been named to the 2023-24 CCM Hockey/American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) Division III Women's Hockey All-American Team.
Quackenbush is one of six players on the East Division's second team. Her All-American honor is her first and seventh overall in Hamilton women's hockey team history. Six different Continental players were All-Americans, as goaltender Sam Walther '18 was named to the first team in 2016-17 and 2017-18.
Quackenbush, a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) first-team selection, had three goals and 13 assists for 16 points in 28 games. She recorded a plus/minus rating of plus-7 and blocked 26 shots. In the NESCAC Championship semifinals against Amherst College, ranked No. 3 nationally at the time, Quackenbush scored one goal and had the lead assist on another as Hamilton won 2-1.
Quackenbush finished his 75-game career with seven goals, 33 points and 26 assists. The Continentals had a record of 50 wins, 23 losses, and 8 draws in Quackenbush's three seasons as coach.
Quackenbush helped lead the Hamilton women's team to the NESCAC Championship finals for the second year in a row. The 8th place Continentals qualified for the NCAA Championships for the second consecutive year as at-large and finished the season with a record of 16 wins, 7 losses, and 6 draws. Hamilton defeated Nazareth University 2-1 in overtime in the first round, advancing to the quarterfinals. The Continentals advanced to the national semifinals in 2023.
