Vegas Golden Knights fans have earned a reputation for being great travelers. Not every city, whether in the East or Northwest, is safe from their presence. Going to a game in another city always makes for a fun travel experience, too. After all, it's an escape from the daily trials and tribulations of life. So it's easy to see why Golden Knights fans love to go to other cities to cheer on their beloved team.
When a “new” team joins the NHL, it's going to be a little different to go to a hockey game. Of course, it's the Utah Hockey Club, rebranded from its desert days. Losing its “Coyotes” identity, the new club offers a new journey for Las Vegas hockey fans. Driving to Salt Lake City for six hours is only two hours compared to driving to Tempe. That difference won't deter Golden Knights fans from heading to the Beehive State. Not even snow can stop them (thanks Lake Tahoe and Mount Charleston for the experience).
Remember that next season may be a little different than this season. There will be new members joining the team and some leaving the organization. This is part of the NHL cycle and it makes us feel both excited and sad. But the sadness will be temporary thanks to the NHL schedule being released. For Vegas Golden Knights fans, how do you know when the schedule will be released? This is a million-dollar question. So, take out your pen and circle some dates. It's time to predict when the schedule will be released.
Typically, the NHL schedule finishes in July or late June. The 2024-25 season has already begun with two games. The New Jersey Devils and Buffalo Sabres will play two games in Prague, Czech Republic, as part of the NHL's 2024 Global Series, which will see the league go international. Predictively, June 27th seems like the ideal date. The month lines up perfectly and will give the NHL more exposure before the draft.
Last season's schedule was released in June, with the Vegas Golden Knights scheduled to play the Seattle Kraken on October 10, 2023. Vegas won that game, 4-1, thanks to the strong play of Adin Hill, who stopped 32 shots to start the season with an 11-0-1 record.
Who will Vegas face in the opening game? The newly formed Utah Hockey Club? Or perhaps the Seattle Kraken again? Either way, it's going to be another wave of road trips for the NHL's most famous team. Start planning your hotel stays and get your Golden Knights gear ready, Las Vegas. Next season is going to be fun.
