South Yorkshire Police have released a statement updating the case of Adam Johnson, who tragically died during an ice hockey match.
Nottingham Panthers star Johnson sadly died at the age of 29 after sustaining a fatal injury on the ice.
His throat was slit in a collision during a match in Sheffield, England, at the end of October.
The Minnesota player was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
After the incident, a man was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.
Local police have now confirmed that the arrested man has been re-released on bail by May 14th.
A spokesperson said: “The man being investigated for the death of ice hockey player Adam Johnson in Sheffield has been remanded on bail.''
“Adam, 29, sustained the fatal injury during a match between Sheffield Steelers and Nottingham Panthers on October 28 last year.
“Sadly, he was later pronounced dead at the hospital and a post-mortem examination confirmed that he died from injuries to his neck.
“The man was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter on November 14 last year and subsequently released on bail. He was further remanded on bail until Tuesday, May 14, 2024.”
“Our thoughts remain with Adam's loved ones as the investigation continues.”

Johnson's death shocked the ice hockey world, with thousands of fans witnessing the horrific events unfold at the arena.
Britain's top ice hockey league, the Elite Ice Hockey League, issued a statement following the American's death, saying the wearing of neck guards was “strongly recommended” but not required.
Petr Cech's ice hockey team then required all players and coaches to wear neck guards.
