PLEASANTON, Calif. — Star students go into classrooms, concert and theater stages, debate podiums, and communities to do good to improve the lives of all of us.
Here at Patch, we have started an initiative to support the recognition of star students and are working to tell the stories of these talented children to their neighbors.

Why do you think local star students should be recognized?
David is a senior at Village High School. He is a member of the Village's student leadership. Both of his parents are very hard workers. They worked very hard in caring for the children, as gardeners and house cleaners. David said, “My parents have sacrificed a lot to get me to this point. They are the reason I want to be successful in life.'' David is a leader and school leader. She is a representative, has accumulated over 80 hours of community service, and works diligently with the student leadership of her school. He is very focused on soccer, playing for the Amador Valley national soccer team, traveling all over the country and even internationally in soccer, winning the Best Goalkeeper award at the “Futsal World Cup” in Spain.
On the topic of respect, David writes, “My mother showed me the side[of showing respect to others]and my father showed me[how to earn respect].” David feels he has the skills necessary to succeed and build a successful career, and he wants to major in marketing. He understands how important education is because football doesn't last forever.
