The Pinnacle Cup Soccer Tournament was held in Worland on Friday and Saturday with nice weather and many games. At times, four games were being played at the same time on the Worland campus. On the boys side, defending 3A state champion Worland defeated Torrington 4-2 in the title match. The Warriors improved to 3-0 in the tournament, while Torrington improved to 2-1. Green River took third place with a 1-0 win over Buffalo, as the Wolves improved to 2-1 and the Bison improved to 1-2. Newcastle defeated Powell 4-2 to take fifth place, with both teams now with two wins and two losses at the weekend. Douglas went 2-1, Lyman 1-3 and Pinedale 1-3.
On the girls side, Worland, last season's 3A runner-up, defeated Buffalo 3-0 to take first place in the Pinnacle Tournament. Worland was her 3-0 and Buffalo was her 2-1 in the tournament. Green River defeated Powell 4-0 to take third place, with the Wolves now 2-1 and the Panthers 2-2. Douglas took fifth place with an 8-1 win over Lyman, making both teams 2-1 on the weekend. Pinedale went 1-3 and Torrington went 0-3.
