The Professional Fighters League is ready to begin the 2024 regular season on April 4th with heavyweight and flyweight bouts. Who will make an immediate impact before the playoffs start?
PFL 1 will be held at the Boeing Center in San Antonio's Techport. It will be broadcast on ESPN+ in the US and DAZN in the UK. PFL founder Don Davis believes 2024 will be a historic year for the organization thanks to Saudi Arabia's public investment. The fund will help dramatically improve its status.
“We are very fortunate to have them (PIF) as a partner in trying to win PFL – we call it the number two position secured.” [in MMA promotion, behind the UFC] – Will be co-leader over the next five years. “We have a very clear plan,” Davis said via The National. “In terms of global viewership, today we represent about 40 to 50 percent of the UFC audience, and the MMA market is growing very rapidly. It's growing,” he said.
“Our view is why aren't there two companies leading MMA on a global scale? And this is a very young sport: 25 years old…so within the next five years, at the latest within the next 10 years… “The explosive growth and change is being led by the PFL and MMA. So the UFC is the current winner and the first winner. But the PFL will be the next and the second winner. You'll understand.''

The main event will be Valentin Moldavsky vs. Ante Delja. Moldavsky, a three-time sambo gold medalist, turned pro in 2015. The Russian is a former interim Bellator heavyweight champion and has a 1-1 record in his past two fights. Deliya turned professional in 2011, in 2019 he joined the PFL and in 2022 he won the PFL heavyweight tournament.
Bellator flyweight champion Liz Carmouche will face Julianna Velasquez in a non-title trilogy, while the rest of the card will feature PFL European champion Dakota Ditcheva, Bellator star Linton Vassell and more.
