The Penn State women's soccer team has announced its captains for the 2024 season. Announced Tuesday. Olivia D'Amico, Rowan Lapi, Devon Olive and Miike Seeman will lead the team through the fall.
“I am pleased to announce that Liv, Rowan, Devon and Mieke will serve as team captains for the 2024 season,” head coach Erica Dambach said in a release. “Each of them brings a different perspective to the game and all four have their own unique leadership styles, which we believe make them the perfect fit to lead our program this season both on and off the field.”
D'Amico, a midfielder in his fifth season at Penn State, has appeared in 47 games for the Nittany Lions, starting 10 times and recording four goals and three assists.
Lapi will serve as a captain in his second and final season at Penn State. Lapi will play in every Penn State game in 2023 and has recorded nine goals and five assists during his time at Penn State and Northwestern.
Olive is set to play his sixth and final season of collegiate soccer in 2024 after taking a medical redshirt in 2023. Olive has appeared in 72 games for Penn State, starting 13 times, scoring one goal and recording two assists.
A native of Berlin, Germany, Seeman will be playing his fourth season with the Nittany Lions. The defender played in 63 games and started 62 at Penn State, becoming one of just four Nittany Lions players to start all 23 games in 2023.
Last year, the Nittany Lions went 16-3, with four ties and advanced to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals. They ultimately lost to Clemson.Pennsylvania State University Season Opening They will face Texas Tech on Thursday, August 15th at Jeffrey Field.
