The Penn State men's ice hockey team announced its 2024-25 non-conference schedule on Monday, with a number of games slated for October. The Nittany Lions will travel to Alaska for the second time in school history before taking on the 2023 national champions. The 10-game non-conference schedule also includes a trip to Washington, D.C., in December.
Penn State will open the 2024-25 season with a three-game road trip on either side of the continent. The Nittany Lions will play a two-game series in Fairbanks, Alaska on Oct. 5 and 6, marking the school's second trip to Alaska. After returning from Alaska, Penn State will travel to Connecticut on Oct. 12 to face Quinnipiac University, the defending 2023 NCAA title winners.
Penn State will open its home schedule with a pair of back-to-back games against St. Lawrence University at Pegula Ice Arena on Oct. 25 and 26. The Nittany Lions will also play a pair of back-to-back games against Colgate University before Thanksgiving on Nov. 22 and 23. The most intriguing non-conference game will be against Army West Point on Dec. 12. Capital Hockey Classic The event, which will be held in Washington, DC, will coincide with the annual Army vs. Navy football game on December 14th.
Penn State will conclude its non-conference schedule with a two-game home series against Canisius College on Jan. 17 and 18. The Big Ten men's hockey schedule will be released in the coming days.
