The 2024 Olympics are less than three weeks away, and the U.S. Women's National Team, led by coach Emma Hayes, will be looking to return to the top of women's soccer.
The U.S. Women's National Team's road to the Olympics will begin in Group B, where they will face Zambia, Germany, and Australia. The women's soccer tournament will essentially span the entire Olympics, with matches beginning on July 25, the day before the Opening Ceremony. If the U.S. Women's National Team survives the tough competition and advances to the Gold Medal Game, their final game at the Olympics will be played on August 10, the day before the Closing Ceremony.
The group stage will begin with three groups of four teams each, played in a round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will advance, along with the two third-placed teams with the most points. These eight teams will then advance to a knockout stage where they will compete in the quarter-finals and semi-finals before moving on to the medal round.
The women's soccer tournament will be played across France, with the US Women's National Team scheduled to play in Nice and Marseille. If the US Women's National Team performs well, they could play in Paris, Lyon, or Nantes. Ultimately, the US Women's National Team's goal is clear: to make it to the gold medal match on August 10 at the Parc des Princes in Paris.
