After an exciting few months of college basketball, only four teams remain in the NCAA Tournament. We've seen teams with talented NBA prospects drop out early, but teams that make it to the Final Four still have a handful of prospects left.
Let's take a closer look at three NBA prospects remaining on Final Four teams.
Zack Eadie
The 7-foot-4, 300-pound behemoth is one of the most recognizable and productive players in college basketball. Eady, who turns 22 in May, is averaging 25 points, 12.2 rebounds, 2 assists and 2.2 blocks per game. In addition, he is shooting 71% from the free throw line this season, the 24th highest free throw percentage in the country (.848). This means that for every 2.35 field goal attempts, he attempts two free throws. The senior also posted an offensive rebound percentage of 18.5, a defensive rebound percentage of 25.6 and a block percentage of 7.
Finally, Eadie ranks in the 97th percentile in points per possession on pick-and-roll and roll man possessions, and in the 85th percentile in points per possession on post-up (including passes) possessions. He is also adept at finding the open man on doubles, as he is in the 80th percentile in points per possession on post-up (hard double) possessions. Eadie also puts him in the 97th percentile in points per shot at the rim.
Some NBA scouts may be concerned about his lack of mobility due to his size, especially defensively, but the rebounding, finishing at the rim, post-up possessions, and speed that Eadie brings to the NBA may be a concern to some NBA scouts. Some may appreciate its potential as a cleaner. He is currently considered a surefire first-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
steffon castle
The 6-foot-6, 215-pound guard and former five-star recruit averaged 10.7 points, 2.9 assists, 4.7 rebounds, 0.8 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game, making 61.4 percent of his attempts (140) at the rim. attempt) was successful. His success rate on two shots other than the rim was 35.6% (59 attempts), and his success rate on three shots was 26.2% (65 attempts). Castle, who won't turn 20 until November, also ranks in the 85th percentile in points per pick-and-roll possession (107 possessions).
Overall, Castle is known for his size at the position, on-ball defense, slashing, and playmaking ability. Castle is shooting 76% from the free-throw line (on 100 attempts), while making just 26.9% on catch-and-shoot threes (on 52 attempts) and shooting only 26.9% on dribble jumpers. is only 26.5% (34 attempts). He is currently expected to be in the 2024 NBA Draft lottery.
Donovan Clingan
At 7-foot-2 and 280 pounds, Clingan is a big player for the Huskies, who turned 20 in February. He averaged 12.9 points, 1.5 assists, 7.5 rebounds, 0.5 steals, and 2.5 blocks per game, with a 14.6 percent offensive rebound rate, 24 percent defensive rebound rate, and 11.7 percent block rate. This sophomore has been very productive this season and has qualified for my most difficult criteria for my productive sophomore query. 71% of his sophomores who meet the same criteria have either played in the NBA for more than five years or are currently in the NBA.
Finally, Clingan is in the 91st percentile in points per shot at the rim, 83rd percentile in points per possession in pick-and-roll roll man possessions (56 possessions), and 94th percentile in points per post-up (including passes). It is located in Possessions (144 Possessions). He is currently projected to be a top-10 pick as he showed improved mobility as the season progressed, especially in drop coverage.
