The ONE 168 card, which marks ONE Championship's second event in the United States, has been enhanced with the addition of an atomweight bout.
This brings the number of confirmed games on the card for the September 6 event to five, which will take place at the 18,000-seat Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, home of the Nuggets.
However, all five bouts at ONE 168 are still subject to change, with one fighter suspected to be injured, and one fighter in each of the other four bouts will also be competing at ONE 167 in Bangkok next week.
The latest bout on the card will see American Alice Anderson take on Brazilian Victoria Sousa (7-2), who is set to face off against Itsuki Hirata at ONE 167.
Souza is coming off a decision loss to Noel Grandjean and only had one fight last year, but he looks to be very active in 2024.
Coincidentally, Anderson (6-3) is coming off a decision loss to Hirata in 2021. The American was stopped by Stamp Fairtex at ONE Fight Night 10 in Denver last year and has not competed since.
Stamp herself will be the main act at ONE 168, competing in a strawweight title bout against China’s Xiong Jingnan.
However, that bout is now in doubt after Stamp, who was scheduled to make her debut at that weight, recently underwent surgery for a knee injury.
It remains to be seen whether ONE Championship will find a replacement for the Thai fighter.
In the other two title bouts at ONE 168, Britain’s Jonathan Haggerty will face Thailand’s Superlek Kiatmoo9 for the bantamweight Muay Thai belt, while America’s Cade Ruotolo will defend his welterweight submission grappling title against compatriot Mikey Musumeci.
Both challengers have risen through the ranks in the world, at least weight class-wise, with Superek moving up from flyweight and Musumeci moving up three weight classes.
The other bout currently confirmed for ONE 168 is a catchweight Muay Thai bout between Britain’s Liam Harrison and Thailand’s Seksan Oh Kwangmuang.
Besides Souza, competing at ONE 167 are Harrison, Musumeci and Superlek.
Please stay tuned for further changes to the ONE 168 card.
