Olympic gold medal-winning figure skater Scott Hamilton will be inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame in 2024.
“Scott Hamilton is one of the most recognized men's figure skating stars in the world, and he uses his platform to serve the world of figure skating and many great causes,” said Brad Willis, executive director of the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame. I have done so,” he said. “Scott and his family call the Middle Tennessee area home and continue to give back with the Scott Hamilton Skating Academy and the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation.”
During his career, Hamilton has earned 70 titles, awards and honors, including four U.S. National Championships, four World Championships, and a gold medal at the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics. He is a member of the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame and the United States Olympic Hall of Fame.
He is an analyst and commentator and a best-selling author.
Diagnosed with cancer in 1997, Hamilton started the Scott Hamilton CARE Foundation, along with several education and survivor support programs, including Chemocare.com and 4th Angel Mentoring.
