The IOC President presented a certificate and an OLY pin to Australian surfer Sally Fitzgibbons, who will be taking part in the first-ever Olympic surfing event at Tokyo 2020. Fitzgibbons signed on the Olympians Wall in front of members of the IOC Olympic Programme Commission, of which Fitzgibbons, a four-time World Surfing Champion, is a member.
Bach also met with IOC Executive Committee member Prince Faisal Al Hussein, and IOC members Prince Albert II, Sergii Bubka, Bernard Radizman and Samira Asghari to discuss Paris 2024 and a range of other Olympic topics.
On Saturday, June 1, the IOC President will attend the UEFA Champions League Final at Wembley Stadium in London, England.

Ten Olympians will be presented with their reallocated Olympic medals in a special ceremony on the afternoon of August 9 during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in the Park of Champions in the Trocadero Gardens, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. This special option was exceptionally offered to these athletes following a recommendation by the IOC Athletes' Commission in March 2024 to include Champions Park as an additional venue for the Medal Reallocation Ceremony, which the IOC Executive Board approved. The IOC Olympic Studies Centre (OSC) has launched a new edition of its grant programme aimed at doctoral students and early career researchers conducting academic research on the Olympic Movement, its history and ideals, and the impact of the Olympic Games on contemporary society and culture. Since its creation in 1999, more than 130 researchers from around the world have benefited from the programme, receiving grants, conducting their research and, if required, visiting the OSC in Lausanne to access its collections and the IOC archives.
