Katie Ledecky will likely head to Paris later this summer looking to make Team USA history at the 2024 Olympics with a shot at a few more gold medals.
Ledecky is one of the most celebrated female athletes of her generation, having won seven gold medals before turning 30.

Outside the pool, Ledecky doesn't rock the boat. She tends to stay out of the political sphere, even though Title IX has become a hot topic for female athletes in the U.S. Several female athletes have sued the NCAA, alleging that their Title IX rights were violated when the NCAA allowed transgender woman Leah Thomas to swim in the 2022 championships and change in the women's locker room.
In a New York Times profile, Ledecky was asked about Thomas and the Title IX lawsuit, and the Times reported that she “didn't want to get into that,” but did offer one general comment.

“I feel lucky to live in a country where we can debate this issue or any issue,” Ledecky told the paper. “I feel that way too. I think it's important to learn other people's perspectives and understand things and learn more about where people come from.”
Ledecky was also asked if she keeps up with political news.
“I don't want to get involved in politics,” she told The New York Times.
“I think everyone can choose what they're comfortable with and what they want to voice,” she added. “As an athlete and someone who still competes, I've always tried to stay focused on my sport and not get too involved in anything controversial.”
