The Denver Nuggets have been very quiet so far this offseason. With Kentavious Caldwell-Pope moving to the Orlando Magic and Reggie Jackson moving to the Charlotte Hornets, Denver has yet to secure a replacement for either player. The Nuggets have expressed strong interest in acquiring Russell Westbrook from the Los Angeles Clippers, but that situation remains unresolved as Westbrook is still under contract with the Nuggets.
According to a recent report Michael Scott of HoopsHypeIn 2018, it was revealed that both Denver and the Miami Heat were interested in shooter Buddy Hield before he joined the Golden State Warriors in a sign-and-trade with the Philadelphia 76ers.
As Scott noted, Denver didn't have the financial wherewithal to acquire Hield, but they were still interested in him. In theory, Hield could have had some of the impact that Caldwell-Pope had in Denver during his time there, but they're not the same player. As for Miami, it's been a relatively quiet trade period in terms of outside additions, although there have been rumors of interest in multiple players.
There's still a lot of action remaining in the NBA this summer, with several key players expected to move teams between now and the start of next season. As for Denver, they haven't been heavily involved in the action yet, but they will likely be involved at some point.
