The Maine Nordiques of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce their goaltender. thomas heaney He has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at the University of Connecticut in the Hockey East.
Heaney, 21, is playing his third season in the NAHL. The Oceanport, N.J., native began his NAHL career with the Johnstown Tomahawks in 2021-2022, appearing in seven games between the pipes with a 4-1-2 record, 2.68 AA, and saves. He finished with a percentage of .908.
After the 2021-2022 season, Heaney played 15 games with the Ohama Lancers of the USHL before returning to the NAHL with the Maine Nordiques. Over two seasons at Maine, the 6-foot-0 netminder played in 64 games and posted a 29-25-2-4 record with a 3.41 GAA and .897 save percentage.

He's a natural leader on and off the ice, and we knew we could trust him. ” said Nordiques head coach Nick Skerik. “Tommy is a very worthy individual and the opportunity to compete at the Hockey East level is a great accomplishment for such a worthy young man. The Nordiques will play the third-seeded Rochester Junior Americans in the divisional semifinals. The first leg of the best-of-five series will take place this Friday at 7:30pm EST at The Colise.
Heaney becomes the 15th player to join the Nordiques this season.
