Nobody likes lack of sleep.
We need water to survive, and if we don't get enough water, the rest of our lives can deteriorate rapidly.
So when the kids in his building were hounding this guy by incessantly kicking a soccer ball around, he was at his breaking point.
When the opportunity to repair it presented itself on the balcony, he thought it best not to miss it.
That's the whole story!
A little background.
I live on the third floor of an apartment building, and the family who lives downstairs has a little boy who loves to kick a soccer ball around all day.
He kicks it into the side of the building, into the interior walls of his apartment, slams it into the ceiling (my floor), and throws it onto the roof.
This isn't just loud. It shakes my whole apartment. I work the night shift and this keeps me up.
The ball then landed on his balcony.
By coincidence, he kicked a soccer ball onto my balcony and I have yet to return it.
It's been two days and he has been knocking on my door for those two days.
He hasn't opened the door yet, and he probably never will.
He knocked on my door for two hours straight today and has continued to knock at least every hour since.
The problem is, I can sleep to the sound of someone knocking on the door, but I can't sleep to the sound of the apartment shaking.
I finally got a solid 8 hours of sleep today and I want to make sure I don't lose it.
eh?
On the other hand, it's a child.
On the one hand… well, let’s hear what Reddit has to say.
Maybe he should have talked to them first?
No one wants to punish a child right away.
After all, communication is key!
You can't put a price on sleep.
The price is for one soccer ball.
