Our little Jake Paul has grown up so much.
The social media boxer is trying to shed the nickname “problem boy” by wearing grown man pants because it's weird to call a 27-year-old man a kid. Plus, he's proving to be the solution to many of society's ills — or at least that's how he sees it — and is open to embracing Puerto Rican dick culture.
The chants in the stadium aren't a lie!
“I'm not a 'problem kid' anymore,” Paul told Pat McAfee. “My life coach was like, 'Hey, you're not a problem kid, you're actually a solution kid. You're not a kid, you're the solution. You're trying to solve all the problems in the world, you're trying to improve boxing, you're doing all these things and making boxing great again.' Everything I'm doing outside of the ring with politics is trying to make the world a better place.”
He certainly did better for this off-clearance UFC fighter.
“The people in Puerto Rico started calling me 'El Gallo' and chanting the name in the stadium, which for those of you who don't know, means 'The Fighting Cock,'” Paul continued. “We have a big cockfighting culture in Puerto Rico, so it's kind of an honor, so the name stuck and now it's 'El Gallo'/'Problem Boy.' I'll always support 'Problem Boy,' but I also love 'El Gallo.'”
And, like the lyrics of “Rooster” say, they still haven't figured out how to kill him.
As far as I'm concerned, former UFC welterweight Mike Perry, who still holds the title “Platinum,” will be giving it his all in the main event of the DAZN Boxing pay-per-view (PPV) this Saturday night (July 20, 2024) at the Amalie Arena in Tampa (stream it here ). A win over “El Gallo” would undoubtedly be the end of Paul's November comeback against Mike Tyson on Netflix.
