TikTok is officially partnered with the Japan Anime and Film Culture Association.
TikTok is currently one of the biggest names in tech, and the app is ready to go all-in on supporting anime. A while back, the company announced plans to work with the growing anime-related association in Japan. TikTok and NACFA (Japan Anime and Film Cultural Association) have teamed up in hopes of revitalizing the industry.
TikTok said its new partnership with NAFCA will make animation a top focus for the tech company: For example, TikTok plans to use its platform to host animation courses, highlight creators in the industry, and even distribute NAFCA content.
NAFCA Representative Director Masuo Ueda commented, “We are very grateful that TikTok has supported the Animator Skills Test, which we are planning to help develop human resources in the anime industry. Going forward, we plan to distribute information about the Animator Skills Test and short lessons for creators on TikTok.”
“In addition to sponsoring our association, they plan to support the anime industry as a whole, and will work with anime studios to show creators at work and explain the industry to them, so that they can get many people, especially young people, interested in the anime industry and help secure and develop future talent. This is very encouraging to hear. Our association will also work with TikTok and further enhance our activities in collaboration with the entire industry.”
As for TikTok, the general manager of its Japanese branch praised the partnership with NAFCA. Yoichi Sato said, “TikTok will work extensively with people in the anime industry to provide support in various ways and spread the word about the industry,” and fans are excited about the deal.
