With the prep and high school seasons over, club hockey is once again the center of attention for many hockey players in the area.
Some of the powerhouse teams from Massachusetts and New England will compete for glory next week at the USA Hockey Nationals.
Massachusetts held its championship in the fall after Thanksgiving. Assabet Valley defeated the Massachusetts Spitfires in the 16U division to qualify for the national tournament. Meanwhile, the Spitfires qualified on an overall basis. In the 14U division, Boston Advantage defeated Assabet Valley and automatically advanced to the national tournament. Assabet also made a large bid.
The New England District held its regional championships earlier this month. The Connecticut Polar Bears won the 16U division, and the Casco Bay Mariners (Maine) won the 14U division.
All tournaments will be held from April 2nd to 7th. The girls' 16U and 14U Tier I Championships will be held in Wesley Chapel, Florida, along with the 19U Championships. Meanwhile, the 16U Tier II Championship will be held in Green Bay, Wisconsin starting April 3rd. The 14U Tier II Tournament will be held in Sioux Falls, South Dakota starting April 3rd as well.
Earlier this week, we broke down players to watch across the 19U age group. So now let's take a look at some of his 16U and his 14U headliners that will be featured at the national tournament.
