On Friday, the Philadelphia 76ers put up a great effort despite being undermanned, but they fell to 0-2 in their four-game West Coast road trip, falling 101-94 to LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. The Sixers returned Tobias Harris to the lineup, but were left without Joel Embiid, De'Anthony Melton and Robert Covington due to remaining issues.
Philadelphia fell to 12-24 this season without Embiid and was unable to take advantage of the Miami Heat's loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. The Sixers remained the eighth seed in the East, and the loss ended their winning streak against the Lakers at seven.
Before Friday, the Lakers last beat the Sixers on March 3, 2020.
Tyrese Maxey had 27 points, Kelly Oubre Jr. had 19 points, six rebounds and three assists, and Harris had 16 points and 13 rebounds. Mo Bamba had 11 points, seven rebounds and three blocks.
