The Portland Trail Blazers haven't been able to accomplish much this offseason with their current roster, especially considering the team's long-term contracts.
However, the team made a few moves in hopes of strengthening the team, drafting Donovan Clingan with the seventh overall pick and acquiring Deni Avdija in exchange for Malcolm Brogdon and the 14th pick.
Bleacher Report reporter Andy Bailey rated each team's offseason and gave the Blazers' moves a “B” grade.
It's a bit odd for a rebuilding team to part with draft capital in a trade, but Deni Avdija is just 23, his positionless play means he could easily fit anywhere, and he's on roughly the same developmental timeline as Scoot Henderson and Shaydon Sharpe, so it's probably fine for the Portland Trail Blazers to use two first-round picks to acquire him.
A more interesting move would be to draft Donovan Clingan, who plays the same position as Deandre Ayton, but the Blazers may need to explore the trade market for Ayton to get him the on-court experience he needs early on.
Their value could rise even further if the Blazers trade Ayton or Jeremi Grant for a decent package between now and the start of the season.
Portland's offseason may not be over yet as the team has reasons to make further moves, but if the Trail Blazers enter training camp with their current slate, they will be moving in the right direction.
