Indianapolis –The Hawks secured a spot in the play-in tournament. They know who they're going to play, they know where they're going to play, and they know the day. But as the NBA concludes its regular season on Sunday, there are still questions about postseason seeding.
Currently, the Hawks and Bulls are the only teams in the Eastern Conference whose seeding position at the end of the regular season is known. Seven spots in the East remain undecided, with the Bucks, Knicks, and Cavaliers vying for the No. 2 seed.
Meanwhile, the Magic, Pacers, and 76ers are tied for sixth place in the East, with the Heat one game behind in eighth place. But that doesn't mean the Heat will finish the regular season as the No. 8 seed. The Heat still qualify for the No. 5 seed along with the Magic, Pacers, and 76ers.
Between the two conferences, 15 of the 20 postseason spots are still undecided.
Therefore, the Hawks still need to look at the results of several matchups to determine what time they will play on Wednesday.
If the 76ers finish the season as the No. 7 seed, they will play the No. 8 seed at 7:30 p.m. That means the Hawks will play the Bulls in the second game of the night at United Center at 9:30 p.m. It's going to happen
If the 76ers fail to finish seventh in the Eastern Conference, the Hawks will face the Bulls in Game 1 at 7:30 p.m.
The Hawks will play the Pacers on Sunday at 1 p.m. Indiana has won the last two meetings between the two teams. The Pacers hope to secure a top-six spot with a victory over the Hawks.
